Food Quantity — FAQ
How much food should I plan per guest for a party?
Plan about 6–8 starter pieces, 250–300g main course, 100g rice or 2 rotis, and 100g dessert per guest. For an Indian buffet add salad, raita, achar and a drink. Every per-person amount is editable in the calculator below.
How much food for 50 guests?
For 50 guests plan roughly 3–4 kg rice, 5 kg dal/curry base, 100 rotis or naans, 6–8 kg starters and 4–5 kg dessert. Add a 10–15% buffer for seconds — the calculator applies it automatically.
How do I calculate food quantity for a buffet?
Multiply the per-person serving size by the guest count, then add a 10–15% buffer (15–20% for weddings and live counters). Select your categories below and the calculator totals every dish for you.
How much rice do I need for 100 people?
About 7–9 kg uncooked basmati rice feeds 100 guests (1 cup = 185g). For a biryani with added protein, 8–10 kg is safer. Adjust per-person rice in the calculator.
How much paneer for 100 guests?
For a paneer curry plan 100–120g paneer per guest — that is 10–12 kg for 100 guests. Use 80g per guest if paneer is a side dish rather than the main.
